Any actual magnetic force compared to a magnet's maximum force is influenced by local circumstances, like steel thickness or the presence of air gaps (uneven surfaces, paints and coatings). When using magnets for safety or engineering then you need to confirm the magnetic force, and compare this to the required minimum. McNetiq is unique in the world by supplying magnetic solutions based on patented Controlock ® technology. This allows a local determining of the actual magnetic force on the location of use. Measuring the magnet's capacity can be done by using the Controlock ® measuring testers set to determine the pull force or the shear (sliding) force.

The McNetiq magnetic anchor with Controlock® technology is the first (and only) magnetic anchor with force measurement on the location of use. This technology provides 100% assurance of the magnet anchor's exact capacity, before connecting to the final load or safety system. By pressing just one button, the user knows the maximum load of the assembled anchor point. Moreover, the anchor magnets are patented, fireproof, and not dependent on a power source. All these factors -and many more- make this technology safe.

The magnets are power independent. Therefore, there are no implications in case of any power failure.

As a general rule, both switchable permanent magnet and electro-permanent magnet have 100 kilograms of breakout force per kilogram of their own weight. In other words: the load capacity of 1 kilogram of a magnet is 100 kilograms maximum under ideal circumstances.

Please note that, depending on the design of the magnet, the force can be higher (Neo 150: 2.8 kgs and 450 kgf breakaway force = 161 kgf/kg. Scaffolding Anchor: 2400 kgf at 18 kg weight = 133 kgf/kg) or lower for other types of magnets.

McNetiq uses permanent magnets to avoid a dependency on electric power. Magnets can be coupled and larger or smaller magnets can be supplied if mechanical handling is preferred.

Activating the McNetiq magnet can only be done by using the special socket wrench. The wrench should be turned until the magnet snaps into the locked position, which is marked "on". This is a rotation of just under half a turn. The magnetic force is now activated. Turning the magnet off is done by reversing the mechanism using the same special socket wrench until you reach the position that is marked "off".

he magnet's measurement on every anchoring spot is crucial because the magnet's capacity varies. The attraction capacity depends on the air gap, the thickness of the steel wall, the type of steel, the size of the contact surface, and the weather temperature.

Even in a worst-case scenario, if one anchor point would carry the full lightning current of 40 kA. No demagnetization of the Neodymium magnets in the anchor point is to be expected. Under normal circumstances, neodymium and ferrite magnets, as well as magnetic tapes and sheets, retain their magnetism almost indefinitely. Factors such as more extreme temperature, vibrations, or magnetic fields can, however, might harm the adhesive force of a magnet.

The attraction strength is affected by the magnet size and the materials from which the magnet is made.

Magnets could affect the functioning of pacemakers and implanted heart defibrillators.
A pacemaker could switch into test mode and cause illness.
A heart defibrillator may stop working.
